Disney Princesses as Tudor Queens

Two things about me; I love Disney and I love history. So, thanks to azaleasdolls, I have been able to create what I think the official Disney princesses would have looked like as Tudor Queens. I know three of them don't really fit in properly but I'll talk about that when I get there so please bear with me. So, without any further ado, the princesses as Queens.

1. Queen Snow White

  1. Classic blue, red and yellow colours
  2. White collar a la Disney
  3. Short sleeves
  4. Flower and leaf pattern on the dress
2. Queen Cinderella

  1. Blue colour more regularly used in the merchandising
  2. White gloves
  3. Blonde hair in bun as in the movie
  4. Very simple pattern on the actual dress
3. Queen Aurora

  1. A primarily pink dress with lashings of blue
  2. Leaf patterns on the dress to symbolise her upbringing as Briar Rose
  3. Hair left hanging as it appears in the movie
  4. Gold necklace
4. Queen Ariel

  1. Green and purple dress to represent her purple shell bra and green tail
  2. Long flowing red hair
  3. Patterns on the dress resemble as coral/seaweed look to represent the sea
  4. Purple, green and red jewellery to show her well known colours
  5. Note; In the Little Mermaid II, Ariel and Eric have a 12 year old daughter named Princess Melody. While not definite, it can be assumed that Ariel is canonically a Queen in the Disney world.
5. Queen Belle

  1. Gold colour as her Golden ball gown is her most recognised outfit
  2. Very simple yet elegant
  3. Hair in fashion seen in the merchandise; in a bun with majority flowing
  4. Carries with her a book and a rose to symbolise her love of books and the curse she broke.
6. Jasmine, visiting Sultana

  1. Blues used as that is the colour she is mostly known to wear
  2. Large crown of Arabian inspiration
  3. Dress patterns designed to resemble Arabian artworks
  4. Jewellery and shows also to highlight Arabian feel.
  5. Note, this series focuses on how the Princesses would look as Tudor queens. However, Jasmine, Pocahontas and Mulan are from very different cultures which made it difficult. As such, I have made a large effort to create them in the Tudor scene maker and give them titles and outfits more befitting of their culture. For example, an English society would see Jasmine as a visiting Sultana and Pocahontas as a visiting Cheiftan. Mulan was harder as she is not actually a princess in her movie. I imagine her being known as Lady Mulan in England due to her high status as a Generals wife.
7. Pocahontas, visiting Cheiftan

  1. Goldish/brown dress similar in colour to the one she wears in her movie
  2. Blue necklace
  3. Leaf pattern on the dress to represent her Native American origin
  4. Simple crown

  6. Note, I am aware that it was not common for daughters of Native American cheiftans to themselves become cheiftans but for the purposes of this series, that is what I have made Pocahontas
8. Lady Mulan, General's wife

  1. Blue, green and yellow used to recreate a dress she wore in her movie
  2. A simple headdress
  3. Pink flowers used as patterns as it gave it a Chinese feel. Also, resembles the flower given to her by her father.
  4. Simple pink necklace to match dress pattern.

9. Queen Tiana

  1. Greens and yellows used to recreate her first wedding dress
  2. Necklace similar to one she wore in blue dress
  3. Various leaf and flower patterns to represent the grassy feel of the original dress
  4. Butterfly like effect on dress also reminiscent of the 1920s, when her movie was set.
10. Queen Rapunzel

  1. Pinks and purples used like in her movie
  2. Very simple jewellery. Suits well as I imagine her being an active queen. Doesn't like being slowed down by large pieces of jewellery.
  3. Very simple dress patterns. Suits well as I imagine her being an active queen
  4. Short brown hair like at the end of her movie
11. Queen Merida

  1. Dark blue dress to recreate the one seen in her movie
  2. Leaf patterns to represent the nature of the Scottish Highlands
  3. Large red hair (difficult to recreate in the Tudor scene maker)
  4. No jewellery other than her crown. She's a lover of the outdoors and doesn't want slowed down by jewellery.
12. Queen Anna

  1. Colours used are the ones from her winter outfit.
  2. Pink and green patterns resemble those seen in her film
  3. Red hair in bun similar to the one she had in her coronation dress
  4. A white crown the symbolise the white streak of her hair.
13. Queen Elsa

  1. Blue used to recreate ice dress
  2. Simple pattern used to mimic the naked eye view of snowflakes
  3. Pointy white crown used to represent icicles
  4. Long blonde hair in braid as in the movie
  5. Note, Elsa is already a Queen in her movie and, as such, I have kept her original look mostly intact but made a bit more Tudor.
Well, thats all of them. Hope you liked them. Watch this space, Disney Princes as Tudor Kings coming soon.
